From the fearsome Krampus, a horned figure known for punishing misbehaving children during Christmas, to the enigmatic Baba Yaga, the witch of Slavic folklore who resides in a house on chicken legs, each illustration delves into the eerie and fantastical elements of these tales. The artwork seeks to capture the mysterious atmosphere of these stories, offering a visual interpretation of creatures that have fascinated and frightened people for centuries across different cultures in Europe.
Context:
For this poster series, I started by hand-sketching ideas in my sketchbook, exploring how to visually capture themes like Run for gyms and public health services, and Relax for libraries and cultural centers. After refining the concepts on paper, I transitioned to Illustrator and Photoshop to digitally create and enhance the illustrations, giving them more depth and vibrancy. Once the artwork was polished, I moved into InDesign to arrange the final layouts, incorporating text and graphic elements. This allowed me to mock up the completed posters, ensuring they effectively communicated the promotion of public facilities to the community.
